Michael Wiggins
I've never been a big reader of books and I wound up writing one. I never took business classes, marketing and finance on my way to building a successful small business as an entrepreneur. In both cases, there was a determination to figure it out. I've always been determined, possessing a desire to compete and be the best. Over the years, my passion to lead others to success could only be outdone by my desire to be the best in doing so. Eventually, one thing became very clear: learning never ceases. As a collegiate athlete, I learned lessons that I value in my speaking career, teaching, coaching, volunteering and presenting. To this day, I take first hand experiences and a transformative line up of leadership strategies to help individuals, organizations, schools and businesses reach their goals. I hope to help you too.
Michael Wiggins is the author of The Starting 11, a book designed to bring out the best in leadership from the most authentic view of an accomplished state champion coach and former teacher holding a Master’s Degree in Education. With over 400 victories, he has been recognized twice as the Illinois High School Soccer Coach of the Year and once as a National Finalist. His successes have led to opportunities to lead others locally and across the globe as far as Tanzania.
With over 30 years of leadership experience from the classroom/athletic fields and beyond, Michael has presented as a clinician and speaker at local, state and national levels. As an entrepreneur, he founded and built a soccer camp business in 1994. In doing so, Coach Wiggins developed and oversaw all aspects of a successful business that has since reached thousands of youth players across Chicagoland over the years, where he and his family currently reside.
